This collection is another from Moda called Boro: Boro Wovens Foundations. In two new colorways: Grey and Taupe, foundation colors for the Japanese Taupe Movement. Boro is reminiscent of Japanese cotton fabrics used in clothing and home accessories like futon covers that once worn out are recycled to patch other items. Boro is class of Japanese textiles that have been mended or patched together. The term is derived from Japanese boroboro, meaning something tattered or repaired. Moda designers bring us this unique collection with fabric prints resembling a mended piece or boro, some with a sashiko like threads. Along with other yarn dyed fabrics this collection will inspire you to create quilts and garments of Japanese elements. Greys and Taupes, that coordinate so well the colors seem to have been created for each other throughout time.
