Shibori is Japanese for several methods of dyeing cloth to produce pattern by binding, stitching, folding, twisting, compressing it, or clamping.
Debbie Maddy creates her beautiful creative fabrics using these methods and then Moda prints her designs on exceptional 100% cotton sheeting in Japan. This is Debbie's 6th shibori collection for Moda.
Shimo means frost in Japanese so it is a very icy collection of designs. In three colorways on Indigo: Neibi (Navy) - Dark Indigo, Mizu (Water) - Medium Indigo, and Kumo (Clouds) - Light Indigo. This collection has a 24in x 44in panel called Sunforeko which means 'Snowflakes', a border fabric called Sunoboru or 'Snowballs', and other prints called Kiri (Fog or Mist), Yuki (Snow), and Kessho (Crystals.) Use in a traditional Blue and White quilt, a more Japanese inspired boro scrap quilt or in one of Debbie's patterns for this collection, coming soon.
