"I love the tender green color of plants I see in nature. Although I live in the city, there are many parks and green areas in my neighborhood. There are the beautiful gardens of nearby houses and the rolling green banks along the river. On my daily walk with our family dog, my eyes are drawn to the brightly colored flowers and the small, delicate pale green plants. In the world of quilting, there are distinct designs and use of colors. However, not many represent the hues and intricate shapes of Mother Nature. It gives me great pleasure to bring together shades of my favorite greens and nature's motifs in a quilt. Although it is beyond my power to do nature justice, my goal was to stay faithful to it in each design. To create with one's own hands means leaving one's mark on the world, and that is a positive thing. Combining nature's unparalleled and charming quilts, handbags, and other items for you to use and admire for man years. Now. let's go for a stroll in search of beautiful plants from which we can begin to design quilts and other projects inspired by nature."
Ms. Saito's connection with the natural world is highlighted in this book of flora. As with all her books, she uses her taupe colored fabrics to create tranquil and soothing quilt patterns in breathtaking detail. Be inspired!
